Eyelid surgery, also called blepharoplasty, is a delicate procedure that requires superior surgical skill to achieve a natural looking result. In this procedure, loose skin, thickened muscle and bulging fat around the eyes are carefully removed in order to rejuvenate the area around the eyes. The resultant scar is well hidden within the upper eyelid crease or just below the lash line of the lower eyelid. In some patients with tight skin of the lower eyelids, excess fat can be removed through an incision placed inside the lower eyelid in order to hide the scar completely.
